At Escape Youth Services, we provide a safe, supportive environment where young people can take part in fun activities, learn new skills, and access trusted advice and support. We work alongside schools and local agencies to help young people thrive and make informed choices.
As a drop-in service, members can leave sessions, unless alternative arrangements are specified by a parent or guardian. Young people may also take part in supervised local activities, with separate consent required for off-site trips and events.

Welcome to Escape Youth Services

Open 4 nights a week in Hawick, Denholm & Burnfoot. Escape is a drop-in facility for young people in Hawick and the surrounding area, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for socialising, personal development, and new opportunities. We offer a wide variety of activities, including creative media, games, sports, music, arts, baking and cooking, interest groups, issue-based sessions, excursions, and residential trips. The project has been successfully running for over 20 years.

Drop-In Sessions

Working together to enhance young people's lives and build positive futures, our drop-in sessions provide a safe, welcoming space to develop life skills, explore new activities, and build friendships. Guided by young people's interests, sessions combine creative, practical, and recreational opportunities with time to relax, socialise, and have fun. ​

Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones is a partnership youth work project that supports young people aged 10 - 21
in the Scottish Borders, with the aim of improving their emotional health and wellbeing, and
life chances.

Holiday Programmes

Our popular holiday programmes run throughout April, July/August, and October, offering a packed schedule of activities, workshops, and trips. Open to both members and new attendees, the programmes provide exciting opportunities to learn new skills, try new experiences, and make friends during the school holidays. ​

Partnership Working

We work closely with schools and partner organisations to provide person-centred support that meets the needs of local young people. Through strong partnerships and targeted programmes, including support for P7 pupils transitioning to secondary school, we help young people build confidence, resilience, and positive futures. ​
